A Question for Americans

“Suppose I Told You That For You To Invade My Country Would Cost You the Life Of One of Your Children, or Your Family.”

“Is Stealing for the Benefit of Capitalists, of Billionaires, of and for Those Who Will Definitely Not Be Risking Their Lives, Worth it For Yours?”

What if I told you with absolute certainty that your willingness to take part, explicitly or tacitly in the invasion of my country, — that your silence or acquiescence would lead to the death of your son, daughter or wife. Would you still support the invasion of another country? What if that would happen, — whether or not they were combatants? What if you knew you wouldn’t be safe where you live, in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, or Oxnard, California, or Boston, Massachusetts for as long as you lived?

Would you?

You may think this an esoteric question, and that somehow it doesn’t or wouldn’t pertain to you. But how do you know? It’s not like you would be a non-combatant and that the rules of engagement would protect you from being a target?

You would be invading a neighbour. Someone who once stood beside you in Iraq or Afghanistan. Do you think that my kids are less deserving of care, of safety, of a future?

And for what? So that some billionaire, like Musk or Trump, who don’t give a damn about you, can add another zero to their bank account?

What happens when ‘collateral damage’ is simply not collateral, but intentional? Because, let’s face it, if your leaders were to invade ‘my’ country? I’m not going to make that distinction. I mean, why would I? You have full knowledge of what your ‘leaders’ intend to do, and so far, there is almost complete silence.

Total acquiescence.

Is that because you’re weighing the cost/benefit of invasion, theft, and let’s face it, the murder of innocents?

Oh, you wouldn’t kill innocents? Just like you would think, “I’m not responsible for the killing of innocents, yet I work at an army munitions plant in Scranton, Pennsylvania, or I make 5.62 rounds at a small plant in Ohio, or Tennessee?

Well, — I’ll you in on a little secret.

You are.

You absolutely are.

The primer you blend, the casings you machine, the explosive you create? The tanks, aircraft, even the hummers you put together, they are all instruments that enable war and death.

Absolutely.

Never mind your religious convictions. They went by the wayside a long time ago didn’t they?

Remember when you elected a man who was guilty of rape, theft, murder, of pathologically lying, abusing others, denying, yet feeling absolutely no remorse? Because an amoral man has no conscience, no ‘soul’.

You know that. Intuitively.

My daughters do. And they have never set foot in a church or feel that somehow they would be absolved from their guilt because they had.

Let me ask the less esoteric question, because this would, and will apply to you.

You need to know the following and to not be deluded by the fact that you don’t live here.

This contiguous piece of land has a 4500 mile border. There are a million ways to actually attack and destroy soft targets in a democracy. Especially when those targets cannot be hardened or protected, and when time is an irrelevancy because hate burns like a nuclear furnace, and would do so for years, even generations.

No place would be off limits. No one protected. No one — innocent.

As for me, — I have stockpiled the tools of war. Those essentials that would extract the price for invasion. I am efficient, stealthy, dedicated and, need I be, ruthless.

And, I’m just a citizen.

I’m just one man. But, I have the ability to eliminate, I estimate a 1000 others. Willfully and with purpose. And if invaded, and my family, my land, my friends, my neighbourhood and city were put at risk, I would forfeit my life gladly in the protection of theirs.

Because, they too are innocents.

So, this time, you wouldn’t get to watch Ohio State play Oregon while happily ensconced in your living room or den.

And it wouldn’t be some whiz-bang like video game you play with your son.

No.

You’d be suffering the same fate that you ‘chose’ to impose on us.

How is it that I can be so strident, so angry, even enraged?

Because, America’s actions don’t and won’t have anything to do with an existential threat. This action, if it takes place, is meant to profit the rich, the greedy, those that already control the lives of the 99% through their wealth, their political connections, their control of the media and their willingness to lie to you, the American public, incessantly.

And it’s because of this that we would not stop, would not forget and would never forgive.
