Ukraine has been at war for more than three years, and in that time, it is estimated that 400,000 Ukrainians have died defending their country. The enemy was always thought to be Russia, but little did the democracies of the west realize that Russia was a pawn to the U.S.
When was it decided that Ukraine would lose the war. Personally I think the die was cast at least a year ago. Trump and his oligarchs needed but to win his election for the Presidency, and the end for Ukraine was in sight.
The question that hangs in the air, was why? Well, it would appear the answer to that is now known. Greed. Again. Trump made an agreement with Russia, stolen land for mineral wealth.
Ukraine has large reserves of titanium, lithium and rare earth deposits. Trump wants to delay the peace process until an agreement is reached that will see America steal Ukraine’s mineral assets, including the Shevchenko lithium deposit in Donetsk.
Reuters (https://www.reuters.com/markets/commodities/russia-advances-ukraines-critical-minerals-trump-talks-deal-2025-02-19/#:~:text=Lithium%20is%20a%20coveted%20global,according%20to%20U.S.%20government%20estimates.) suggests that “it is likely that the Russians will reach this are in the coming weeks”.
Trump wants to secure a cease fire, before Russia successfully gains control of the majority of Kyiv’s mineral wealth. He can then claim success as he will have reclaimed all of the funds expended on three years of war, as well as making money on the deal, estimated at $500 Billion U.S. dollars.
Trump is pushing for Zelenskyy to agree to the “peace for minerals” extortion plot. The wild card is Putin. If he continues to win on the battlefield, slowly annexing more and more of Ukraine’s wealth, then the zero-sum game will work to his benefit. Possibly, and no one but Putin and Trump knows, — Trump has been played by Putin.
It’s entirely possible that the two thieves are not as thick as they appear. Putin may have promised Trump minerals and a Nobel Peace Prize, (LOL) and Trump may have fallen for the ruse. In reality, it looks like Putin was planning to seize Ukraine, steal the mineral assets and not share them with Trump. The ‘ruse’ enabled Russia to advance due to insufficient munitions and weapons from the U.S., while at the same time ensuring Russia could move on all of the mineral resources, hence minerals plus territory equals zero-sum win for Russia.
It has been Trump’s narcissism that has enabled Putin to play Trump like a fiddle.
So, what now?
The fly in the ointment for both men may reside with Zelenskyy and European leaders, including Keir Starma. If they deploy U.K. forces inside Ukraine, and NATO backs the move, then both Trump and Putin could end up losing their ‘deal’.
Americans are the ones being played like a Stradivarius. They have provided the funds to enable both Putin and Trump to enrich themselves at the expense of the the American people.
This was always the plan. All for one, and all for one.
But Trump’s plan may even be more convoluted. Trump wants to fleece America and the markets of all the wealth that fossil fuels can provide. He doesn’t want Ukraine’s minerals to be utilized as that may well diminish the value of fossil fuels. Therefore, why not enlist Putin in the plan. He can steal the minerals, lock away the assets to ensure they won’t undermine the value of fossil fuels and delay the adoption of EV’s substantively in the U.S., while increasing the value of fossil fuel stocks, and the interests of his gang of American oligarchs.
Dumb and dumber play Americans for fools.
Once again, America is ‘stupid is, as stupid does.’
So much winning America. Does Plan 25 make sense now?
