Boycotting Any Canadian Company that Moves to the U.S.

Trump is attempting to coerce Canada and Canadian companies to move to the U.S.

As most of the clients for these companies reside in Canada, Canadians should immediately boycott these companies and move their business to alternate Canadian firms. This is economic war, so irrespective of the size or scope of company that moves its production or employment to the U.S., Canadians should immediately identify the company and its location and then publish the name of the company, its business interests, products and holdings in as many media locations as possible to ensure that Canadians are aware, so that they in turn can cancel their business or move it to an alternative Canadian company.

America is no friend or ally to Canada, and should be treated as such. Remember this when buying any item, big or small. Remember too that Amazon.ca for example is not a Canadian company and all profits from Amazon return to the United States.

Particularly when it comes to large purchase items, such as appliances, cars, redeveloping or building a structure, etc., buy Canadian or from other countries.

I was in the process of looking to buy a Ford Maverick truck. I have since discontinued the purchase and will now buy a Japanese manufactured car. We recently planned a holiday that would have seen us cruise on an American carrier, from an American port. We have cancelled that plan and will now fly to a sovereign nation in the Caribbean, and will stay in a Airbnb owned by a Canadian. I was about to buy a new rifle, originally from America. Not now. It was just purchased from CZ in the Czech Republic.

So look closely at every purchase, and assume nothing. There are a number of sites on the web, like “Shop Canadian” where you can check to determine if the product you wish to buy is Canadian or American. Act accordingly as Canadian companies will suffer from every sale made in America that could have been made in Canada.

Even road trips and cross border shopping should stop. Yes, you will have to pay more to buy Canadian, but remember, the job you save may be your own.

Canada is an infinitely better place to live than the United States. We know that intuitively, because we choose to live here. Most of us could have emigrated if we had been willing to live where hate, racism, violence, and ignorance is such that it endangers your health and security. We chose not to. Our families, our friends, our business, commerce, industry and avocations are all found here in Canada.

Loving Canada is not just the right thing to do. It’s the only thing.
