Mark Carney will likely be Canada’s next Prime Minister. My greatest hope is that he does as he has alluded to and funds the Canadian military to the tune of 2.5%, just as the UK has done, as of today.
All of the other issues fall into the background if you don’t have a sovereign country. America and Russia are both neighbours, both enemies of Canada. There is no room for niceties and hopeful diplomacy with sociopaths. There is only action and a willingness to fight for what you believe in.
If Canada spends 2.5% of GDP, and does the same as the UK, lowering the time period to 2027 fiscal year, Canada’s military will have 83 billion dollars with which to rearm and increase the manpower of the Canadian Armed Forces.
We have no time to dither, discuss, pull fluff and argue about how problematic it will be. We have to survive in a world where our two neighbours both want our country and every valuable asset within it.
It’s time for Canada to bite the bullet and find the means to do so. Whether by additional deficit spending or not, Canada has no choice if we want Canada to remain.
Keir Starmer has it right. We live in a dangerous world, and in some respects, one more dangerous even than Ukraine, for we have a sociopathic neighbour along with the most capable military in the world, next door.
Fighting the U.S. militarily is folly, but so is America invading Canada. We will fight an asymmetrical war in that event, one that will bleed America of its youth over time. America lost in Vietnam, Afghanistan and in fact, based on what has transpired in Iraq since America destroyed the country and left, Iraq as well.
Canada, would be infinitely worse. Forty One and a half million terrorists on a border 4,500 miles long, undefended, — would enable devastating terrorist activity in America, until they left Canada entirely.
This is not rhetoric, and it is no joke.
Canadians now despise America. Being willing to eliminate those that seek to do us harm?
Easy.
And it would last for generations, not months or years.
