Today Trump stated, “We can’t be expected to carry a country…they’d make a great state…they really would.”
Carry a country?
In what way does America carry Canada?
Apparently, Donnie the Economic Wizard, doesn’t believe that any economic relationship is a two way street.
As I’ve stated before, Trump is delusional. He actually believes that Canada should provide America with whatever it needs, but not prosper in any way for doing so.
Sorry Donnie…that’s asinine.
Canada and the United States have, (at least until now) had a deeply intertwined economic relationship, with a significant amount of trade and investment flowing between the two countries.
Canada is America’s largest buyer of American products, and in turn, Canada sells more to the U.S. than to any other nation.
But the road works both ways Donnie. When America has a downturn, it also affects Canada.
And if you assume that somehow Canada should be able to consume the same level of products as America does, then Donnie you are really out to lunch.
Three Hundred and Thirty Five Million people can obviously consume a lot more than Forty One and a half million people. Unless of course you’re Donald Trump, right?
And since you WANT our oil, seeing as you consume over twenty million barrels a day, and produce fourteen million barrels a day, it isn’t our fault that you WANT IT.
Blaming Canada for American consumption is as stupid as blaming Canada for fentanyl that Americans consume, even though in fact, less than .05% of the problem is Canadian.
But let’s face it Donnie. Math is not your strong point.
But, Point Taken Donnie
In the future, we’ll sell our oil, and all other resources and products to the E.U., to China, Japan and Korea. They actually know how to count Donnie.
Canadian trade is diversifying as I type.
Canada is inking agreements with the U.K., Japan, China, Korea and the E.U.
As for defence, we agree with you. We’ll buy all of our weapons systems and munitions from the E.U., the U.K., Korea and Japan.
F-35? Nah…we like the French Rafale and the Saab Gripen E anyway, so let’s forget about selling us anything else. Every single weapon system going forward will be from our allies and partners, that would be NATO, the E.U., U.K, Japan and Korea.
You see Donnie, when you threaten and then attempt to extort your neighbour it leaves a sour taste in our mouth.
Once we’ve made the transition to new markets, we won’t be coming back…for anything.
And you know what else?
WE’LL be better off for it.
Good bye America. May you reap what you sow.
And lots of it…
