At what point do Americans wake up?
How long will it take before those who support trump, a man who is clearly a sociopath, to come to the conclusion that the only side he’s on, is his own?
America is sitting on its hands, while the democracy that took 250 years to build is demolished. Trump has successfully dismantled that departments that provide Americans with all of the things they fought so many wars over to retain.
For 93% of America’s existence, it has been at war.
To accomplish what?
Americans, I assume, want an education, opportunity, health care, a clean environment free of disease and pollution. A place where one can make a living, raise a family, educate them to a standard beyond what you had the opportunity for, and then to retire and enjoy the effort, the work, the risk and for many, the service you provided in defence of all those things.
Yet, in the last 100 days, one man, a sociopath who is proving himself to be the liar he has always been, is dismantling America’s democracy, piece by piece, day by day.
The department of education, immigration, health, the environment, gone.
What has everything that Americans sacrificed for, been about?
You are watching the levers of power for a democracy be demolished, and yet you still sit on your hands.
Soon you won’t have any levers to pull. They will all have been disconnected.
The levers of power, including the entire legal system meant to provide protection for the little guy, average joe citizen, no longer exists.
The Supreme Court has been usurped by kleptocrats, bent on stealing what little is left that the 1% don’t own.
And now, in full control domestically, trump and his team of sycophants and oligarchs are out to steal Greenland and Canada.
Fortunately, for Canadians, we aren’t enamoured by threats of extortion, by threats of annexation or threats of economic destruction.
What we will do, is move away from America as fast as the starship enterprise in warp drive.
America has proven it can’t be trusted.
It is no ally.
It is no friend.
It is simply a nation bent on hegemony and theft, just like its leader.
Canada won’t play.
We are diversifying the economy, quickly. We will find new trade partners, and join alliances, like the E.U., where coercion is still frowned upon.
America has lost all of its moral authority, having aligned itself with Russia and with Israel.
One nation is an international pariah and invader of a sovereign nation. The second a genocidal nation bent on destroying a people and in stealing their land.
America, colludes with both of them, and provides the weapons, and or the means to continue their destructive journeys.
Canada for Canadians
There is, as Canada’s Prime Minister Carney just stated, “No way back for Canada”.
Canada will go its own way, and will sell its resources, its products, its energy and its oil to actual partners and friends, be they the E.U., U.K., Japan, Korea or, for that matter, China.
America will have no control over Canada as we will do trade around the world and completely replace America as our major trade partner.
Of course, this will take time, and cost Canadian’s jobs.
But, we will not only survive, but thrive.
We are educated, have massive resources and can build new supply chains in the near future.
We will massively expand the military, even bringing conscription into existence to fill the ranks if necessary. Canada will be expending close to 100 billion a year on defence, starting in 2027.
We will build new ships, new submarines, new aircraft, (less the 16 F-35″s we’ve already paid for), new tanks, IFV’s, helicopters, reconnaissance aircraft and new self-propelled artillery.
We are even considering pulling out of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and building nuclear weapons.
Then intent is to double the size of the Canadian military and to send two brigades to Europe in support of Ukraine.
It will be expensive. But even if it costs Canadians 5% of GDP, — we will gladly pay it.
We did in Korea as well, in fact, we spent 8% of GDP on defence.
Canada will never be American, or part of the U.S.
Americans of all stripes simply sat on their hands while Donald Trump attempted to extort a nation. Not a word from Americans.
Okay, we get it. Don’t come here. You’re not welcome and likely won’t ever be.
Canada should harden the border and implement visa requirements for all Americans.
We simply don’t trust you, and more and more, — we don’t like you or what you stand for.
