Right now, there is no difference between America and Germany in 1935. Random arrests, no free speech, no rights. People came, and surprisingly, still come to the United States in order to get an education.
And when they do, American fascist agents of both the DEA and ICE, arrest some of them and detain them. Once detained they are provided with 12 hours to file for ‘Habeus Corpus’ under the courts, retain a lawyer and file for a hearing.
Habeus Corpus is a legal principle and process, often referred to as the “great writ of liberty,” that protects individuals from unlawful detention. It allows someone in custody to challenge the legality of their imprisonment and ensure their right to be brought before a court to determine the validity of their detention.
Trump has made it necessary to have all this accomplished within 24 hours, and often, the plaintiff or one arrested is only provided a single phone call, and may not even be aware, because the information, provided verbally, is only done in English during the arrest. No papers are provided and no further information is given to those arrested.
What Trump is doing is no different than the Nuremberg laws of 1935. If you’re an immigrant, you’re essentially, not an American. America is rounding up non-white immigrants and deporting them, without due process to El Salvador, under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.
Trump simply states that all the Venezuelans are ‘gang members’, without proof, without trial or hearing and without representation to a court in the United States.
Now it’s Venezuelans.
Who next?
Guatamalans, Hondurans, Columbians, Cubans, — Canadians?
Where does this stop.
What happended in Nuremberg under the Nuremberg Laws was no different. The Nazi Party used the “Law for the Protection of German Blood and German Honor to identify ‘mixed race’, and those who were therefore not Aryan Germans.
The Nuremberg Laws changed the everyday lives of Jews in Germany by making Jews legally different from the non-Jewish neighbors.
America is doing exactly the same thing with immigrants. Non-white, hispanic,
Katherine Yon Elbright, counsel at that Brennen Center for Justice, said in a statement that Trump’s us of the Alien Enemies Act was illegal.
“The only reason to invoke such a power is to try to enable sweeping detentions and deportations of Venezuelans based on their ancestry, not on any gang activity that could be proved in immigration proceedings.”
So, who is next?
Trump can target any group, ethnicity, color or religious group and state that they are “Enemis of the State”, and without any due process that group too will be subject to summary arrest, detention and deportation.
America is now a fascist state. Pure and simple.
It uses extortiom against its neighbours.
It lies about all of the pertinent facts.
It applies tariffs, without any rationale, even though Trump is the one who signed the agreements that existed and were binding under trade law.
At least Canadians are not subject to Trump’s illegal acts of arrest, seizure, and theft.
At least outside of the U.S. he isn’t in control, although tariffs are nothing more than extortion by the U.S. to bring about Trump’s desires.
In any event Donald we won’t stand for your lies, for your threats and your attempts at extortion.
You may well cost our economy a signifant loss, but we will not only survive, but thrive.
We’re leaving America behind.
We’ll trade with the world, including China, and without duties if we choose.
We’ll provide them with whatever they need, since they are trade partners and are not threatening Canada.
Not like the U.S., that still threatens us with annexation and what amounts to simple extrotion.
We will not only ensure this never happens, we will ensure that we create some serious pain for America in response.
Tariffs work both ways. Cutting off oil, energy and virtually every other product to the U.S. will impact Ameria.
You say it won’t matter?
