As if to prove to Canadians that they are on the right path, America’s Ambassador to Canada proved to Canadians why they should continue to move away from America’s sphere of influence as fast as possible.
Ambassador Hoekstra is everything that Canada and Canadians eschew. He is arrogant, ignorant and apparently as bright as his mentor, Donald J. Trump.
Canada will continue to seek new partners, new allies and new friends. If this is what Americans stand for, then I have no doubt that America will succeed in their protectionist and isolationist goals.
We, — Canadians, are done with the United States. Arrogance and stupidity, combined with ignorance and the EQ of a Taipan, doesn’t impress Canadians.
With luck, we can reach escape velocity in a year. We’ve already reduced trade by somewhere around 12% in a few months. Let’s get to 75% by the time Donald J. Trump attempts to steal another Presidential term.
Will Americans roll-over and do nothing?
Only time will tell. So far, we are not impressed. Living next to an autocrat is bad enough. But living next to a sociopath suffering from syphilitic dementia is worrisome.
