The United States of America has unilaterally decided that it should be the hegemonic power in the western hemisphere.
This cannot be allowed.
All democracies have the right to self-determination and any unilateral actions by the United States have no legality or authority under international law.
America is no longer a democracy. As such it should not be allowed to enter any trade, economic, commercial, or military force, organization or group associated with democratic institutions.
America should not be allowed to trade with any other democracy.
All members of the Democratic Union are required to come to the defence of any other member state attacked, economically or military by a nation outside the Democratic Union.
Free Trade is a requisite tenet of membership within the Democratic Union.
The democracies of the world, and by that I mean those nations that respect the rule of law, international law, trade law, the United Nations and the right of nations to self-determination, now need to exercise agency.
All of Europe, most of the ASEAN Nations including Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, along with Canada and European Union, need to form a new alliance known as the Democratic Union.
The nations that believe in democracy need to exercise their control as a group that includes the following rules and regulations with it;
- No trade with autocracies, kleptocracies or states with dictatorships;
- The Rule of Law must exist;
- The Independence of the Courts must exist;
- The Separation of Church and State must exist;
- Free and fair elections must occur every four years;
- Freedom of speech, religion and assembly must exist;
- Accountability and Transparency must exist;
Pillars of Democracy
- Citizen Participation – voting, debate, jury duty and community involvement must be allowed;
- Political Tolerance and Pluralism – where minority rights are protected, multiple political parties are allowed;
- The Independence and transparency of the Judiciary must be maintained;
- Separation of Powers – must be maintained (legislative, executive and judicial branches with independent and clear roles, rules and responsibilities.
- Free Media – Independent and pluralistic media informs the public and holds power accountable.
Exclusionary Responsibilities
Being the requisite elements that must be maintained, the Democratic Union has the right to manage exclusionary responsibility for any nation that does not conform or adhere to the rules and regulations, including the pillars of democracy.
Any nation that fails to adhere will be expelled for as long as that nation refuses to adhere; and,
- That nation will have no trade or be granted any access to resources, industrial access, capital, funds, from any member of the Democratic Union.
- A new currency, the DE ECO Dollar will be standardized across the union, and all commodities, products, minerals and materials will be provided with a specific value.
- No tariffs within the Democratic Union will be allowed.
Defence
All member states will provide manpower, funding, training and equipment to the DE Defence Forces based on a formula that includes the size of a member states GDP, Population size and economic strength.
Education will be standardized and operated across the DE, by the DE.
Medical Care will be standardized across the DE, and operated by the DE.
Production and Capital Assets will be equitably distributed.
Every nation’s systems will pay taxes based on representation.
Pensions will be standardized across the DE.
All social services will be distributed equitably to the same level of skill and availability.
Food production will be standardized and distributed through democratic businesses that must adhere to DE rules and regulations.
Transportation will be standardized for roads, rail and air traffic.
All businesses will have to adhere to state regulated requirements for taxes, access to capital, and pricing.
Funds for the development of all essential production, manufacturing, defence procurement and supplies will be available at rates set by the Democratic Union.
All banking institutions must adhere to the rules and regulations of the Democratic Union.
The current EU structure will become the model to be employed in the design and management of the DE.
Developing a framework for the future should be the first order of business, and the development of a defence structure consisting of all members and all weapons systems, platforms, aircraft, land forces and naval assets must be included.
