It’s been said that we live in interesting times. I’m not quite sure that, –that is what I’d call it.
Today, with a sociopath in the highest office in America intent on dragging the world back to 1898 and America’s foray into Imperialism once again, it feels as though we are untethered from reality.
The world isn’t filled with Imperialist powers vying for territory and hegemonic control, –nor will they be tolerated.
Trump and the GOP seem to believe that in 2026, McKinley has been reincarnated and that it’s his Devil Given Right to attack other sovereign countries, and instigate a new Imperialist era for America going forward.
Only this time, if you listen closely…the clopping of the Roughrider’s horses hoofs, has been replaced by jackboots, and the whine of turbine engines.
Might is Right…so pass the ammunition and damn the torpedoes people!
Sorry America, but to quote George H.W. Bush, “Ain’t gonna happen.”
You see we’ve seen the movie, eaten the popcorn and started to find the exits.
It’s Now Time To Break America’s Piggy Bank
I’m sorry to inform you, (not ever), Mein Fuhrer, but the world no longer respects or accepts fascist rule.
And seeing that your rapidly strengthening nemesis may well, not just take Taiwan while you threaten nations in the western hemisphere, — but seize other territories in the China Sea or farther afield, — it would behoove even a narcissist buffoon and entitled sociopath to consider the broader picture of what will transpire should you act to attack another sovereign western nation.
Sure you can go ahead and invade a foreign western nation, Canada or Iceland, (but I guess you should buy a map, cause that’s the wrong island), and by so doing seal the fate of America for the next hundred years, as the US is in no position either domestically, politically or financially to do so. You’ve already driven your allies, friends and partners away, to the point that the next step they will take is to treat America as their actual enemy.
At the present moment, the US’s former allies are already dumping small amounts of US treasuries (debt) in order to simply illustrate that the world’s “shit holes” (as you so respectfully call foreign nations) could send the markets crashing and spin the US into a depression or worse. Those foreign nations and never will be American states or territories control 8.8 trillion dollars of U.S. treasuries (debt) that can be sold overnight if need be. And damn, that would be some shock to the bond market, interest rates, banks and their financial instruments. It might even start a run on the banks and have investors fleeing for their financial lives.
I’ve previously written about the cascading series of events that once triggered would be almost impossible to contain, with collateral damage throughout financial institutions and connected structures that would make the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy and 2008 look simply like a garden party in the once beautiful ‘Rose Garden’, now bulldozed to built a bordello dance floor for stormtroopers.
America under this administration, still calls itself a democracy but illustrates none of the attributes of one. Internally it is rapidly and thoroughly dismantling those elements of governments, that being the institutions that are requisite for a democracy to function.
The rule of law, both domestically and internationally by the United States, is no longer alive. Today, men and women, without intelligence, truth, honour, empathy or rationality have replaced the heads of every secretariat, department and advisory roles with incompetent sycophants, who are uniquely unqualified, ignorant and horrifically stupid and arrogant.
The Supreme Court, the Justice Department, the Office of the Attorney General, the Secretary of State, — in fact every institutional lever that manages life in the United States, has been undermined, and replaced with an oligarch, plutocrat or simply an incompetent quisling to the new Fascist leader in Washington.
Congress itself, supposedly working by the people for the people, has now been emasculated. There is only pretence and apparent ineffectiveness, left in Washington. Meanwhile, Americans mired in their own domestic nightmare, continue to pretend that “this too shall pass”.
And, like ostriches sticking their head in interstate asphalt, Dein Fuhrer, definitely not Mein Fuhrer, with the help of Herr Duffy, will drive over you and sell ostrich meat to the masses in America.
A National Strike
By not striking and removing the one paramount thing that will allow Americans to seize back control and force this fascist regime to leave office, or lose their ill gotten gains, — Americans are going to lose their ability to force change, before it is too late.
The labour of Americans is the single most effective tool that they have to force change, peacefully and without being subjected to even worse brutality, and more murderous and brutal action from the current administration against Americans, Immigrants and those of colour.
The 1918 Swiss general strike forced the government to reform, while the 1995 French National Strike was a massive, 22-day public sector movement against Prime Minister Alain Juppé’s welfare and pension reforms that started on November 24, 1995, paralyzed transport, with widespread public support (“strike by proxy”), forcing the government to withdraw the reforms by mid-December.
But a national strike in America that shut down virtually everything, except hospitals and essential emergency services is what needs to be instituted. And it doesn’t matter if 35% of those who are hopelessly enamoured with their own ignorance don’t take part. The rest will absolutely succeed if they act.
Why?
Because the one single thing that plutocrats, kleptocrats and those who are the corporate, financial and industry backers, the .01% of Americans that own 30% of all its wealth, — cannot withstand, cannot tolerate, the loss of their wealth and their power.
For them power, money and influence are more important than anything, be it country, be it honour, be it peace.
But power, money and influence can be excised from them as cleanly as a scalpel on an abdomen if Americans withdraw their labour and simply stay home, shutting down commerce, AI, shipping, ports, goods and commodities from leaving or arriving. If airports, ports, rail, — in fact every facet of transportation becomes non-existent, while the internet and the media shut down, these actions would not provide this administration with the means to communicate, to act, to organize and thereby to control, whether by threats, coercion or direct action.
They would simply have no one to beat, no one to target.
Americans would all be home, and the economy, especially the richest of those in America, the financial elites, many of whom look down upon and denigrate the average America working man, (who actually provide the means to their wealth) they would see their financial fortunes, their industries, their corporations, wither on the vine and begin to die, — rapidly.
Yes, it would hurt the common man, but the brownshirts wouldn’t be able to take it out on anyone. In fact, it’s likely that, like a cancer, they would feed on each other like the reptiles they truly have become.
Americans have to make a choice, financial pain for a democratic future, or a fascist regime where one’s life can be forfeit for simply standing in a street in a Minneapolis suburb and helping a woman being physically assaulted by a fascist Gestapo.
It’s your call America. Now or possibly, never.
The world is already reorganizing, diversifying and creating new trade and supply chains designed to leave America isolated economically and alone, militarily, economically, and politically.
America can’t attack or invade every country on earth.
And there will be immense resistance, that will cost American blood and treasure, and leave it ostracized and alone in a way that being called the ‘enemy’ can’t completely explain.
It didn’t work in Vietnam, when the economy wasn’t in collapse. It didn’t work in Afghanistan, that today is exactly as it was prior to America and it’s now former allies joining the coalition of the ‘willing’, –to sacrifice their people when America asked for help, and be denigrated by Americas fascist leader for doing so.
One of those who died, worked for me.
And after what an American President about what that young 23 year old man gave defending the interests of America?
I can’t say without being charge with a hate crime in Canada.
And so it is that today, America has no ‘real’ friends, allies or partners left. America is like a magnet with its pole aligned to repel all others.
Soon, America will find that it sells almost nothing, as virtually everything it manufactures or that its service economy creates, is either replicated somewhere else, or isn’t needed or wanted by the ‘others’ that America has threatened, coerced, extorted or invaded.
What is coming from the rest of the world’s 7.75 billion citizens is abject ignorance towards America. Trade will bypass it. Supply chains will ignore it. Whole industries will develop new means of circumventing America.
It has already started in earnest. The GATT, WTO, will deliberately and thoroughly be replaced by a Global Trade Organization that eschews the U.S. The ASEAN nations, MERCOSUR, the EU, APEC and the CPTPP, are all on board in principle. Finding common regulations that act as rules are now under review.
And once instituted?
We, collectively, those assaulted, assailed, extorted and coerced will never, ever return to what was.
The world does not, and will not trust the US going forward. And its percentage of global trade has already shrunk to between 10 and 12% over the years. Meanwhile, the Global Trade Organization will represent 60% of global trade, and is intent on finding mechanisms to develop ‘free trade’ in the currencies of the countries trading, — which will replace the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency.
It will be a slow but an inexorable, overwhelming and irresistible force that erodes America’s preeminence globally.
Remember who did this to America.
Remember how Americans are either simply watching, or simply protesting with signs.
Neither of which will derail a fascist regime from its goal of total subjugation.
America created this, and by tacitly signing on to the actions of a fascist kleptocrat and not acting, — not just once, but twice, in order to avoid confrontation that would see a sociopath removed, –Americans will unfortunately achieve complete isolation from the democracies of the world.
Soon, if threats continue, America will see all 8.8 trillion of its foreign held treasuries, sold. Collapsing the U.S. influence and trade with the world will have direct and long-term consequences for the whole global market, in economics, trade, in politics, and in military alignments.
The whole western world, including Japan, Korea, Australia, and those nations in the Asia and Southeast Asia will then be repelled by America, the current administration, but equally in relation to Americans, as they could have stopped this. Americans have the motive, means and opportunity to now just resist fascism, but defeat it, – but only if people act.
Americans can watch while the current regime continues to use pretence, lies, misinformation, denial and bravado to suggest this a fascist yet imperialist America is not the case. But no one is listening any more. The charade of an actual intelligence at work in Washington, has been exposed. We’re rapidly heading to the final act, where the curtain will come down, and where everyone, leaves the theatre.
The show, for America and Americans, is just about to close.
Whether the show continues, but with a new cast and script, is now anyone’s guess.
