China is now using humanoid robots for security and support roles. This isn’t science fiction. It’s fact, and not an alternate fact either America. This one is not a GCI product either, like many MAGA presentations or rallies.
UBTech Robotics signed a contract to deploy Walker S2 robots for border surveillance and logistics, that are now in operation at the Guangxi border checkpoints for patrols.
These robots are described as;
“A motion-controlled, combat-capable robot”, which was demonstrated to the PLA last month and is undergoing ‘active testing’ designed for ‘high-risk military tasks’.
According to the American Enterprise Institute, states that “China’s broader long-term strategic plan aims to become a world leader in robotics by 2035, integrating these technologies into ‘national security frameworks.’
The goal for the Chinese military is to team robotic infantry capable of sophisticated use of various detection tools, like infrared, LiDar, and integrated cameras to autonomously find and engage enemy forces. In fact, robowolves, quadrupedal or humanoid robots are now being integrated into the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) for reconnaissance, logistics, and, in some cases, direct combat.

Robowolves (Q-UGVs) developed by firms like China South Industries Group Corporation and Unitree are designed to carry automatic rifles and operate in ‘packs’. This is not simple remote-control, but higher-level autonomy. This includes the advent of AI-driven ‘swarms’ that can operate in communication-constrained, complex urban environments.
Combat Capabilities
These units are designed for, and have been demonstrated in, scenarios involving traversing rubble, conducting reconnaissance, providing cover fire and even transporting ammunition.
Late last year, amphibious drills were held that included LiDAR-equipped robowolves that were showcased in state media providing fire support during amphibious assault exercises with the 72nd Army Group.

No one should be surprised by this, in relation to robowolves, but the fact that humanoid robots have become so sophisticated that autonomous employment in combat will soon be, not just possible, but regularly part of combat operations, linked to human infantryman in teams, is a significant leap in capability.

Which brings one to question. If this is what the Chinese Army readily admits to, what is it that they are not disclosing?
What is truly interesting, is that the PLA has stated that autonomous humanoid weapons systems linked into communications and what is called the ‘neural network’ will allow information discovered autonomously can then be transferred to other humanoids and plans then created by those humanoids using information on tactical assaults to be passed between the units, and assigned tasks that are collaboratively integrated into planning.
The PLA have stated that this will be accomplished by 2035.
Gives one pause.
What if they then hide information, or determine a completely different solution to a problem?
