America’s Arrogance is Insufferable
Today Marco Rubio illustrated, once again, how ignorant and insufferable the United States under the current administration can be.
Weeks after Trump’s 70 minute diatribe at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he berated Denmark and the EU that ‘he’ was going to acquire Greenland, then criticized Canada stating, “Canada lives because of the United States”, and attacked Europe’s use of green energy, calling it the “Green New Scam”, then further criticized NATO, stating “We’re paying for almost all of it”, while mocking the President of France and claimed that the U.S. because of tariffs, made America the ‘global economic engine’, — Trump, through the mouthpiece of Rubio, now informs Europe, in the most condescending way possible, that the “US wants a renewed alliance”.
On America’s terms!
Truly. I shit you not, he actually said that.
His highly conditional offer, was as condescending as it was arrogant. He essentially returned to berating the assembly by stating the following;
“We in America have no interest in being polite and orderly caretakers of the west’s managed decline. We do not seek to separate, but to revitalize an old friendship and renew the greatest civilization in human history. What we want is a reinvigorated alliance that recognizes that what has ailed our societies in not just a set of bad policies, but a malaise of hopelessness and complacency.”
Wow. All that coming from a nation that uses its own Gestapo forces to arrest, detain and even murder, yes murder its own citizens. Sorry Mr. Rube-io, we’re not interested.
For a nation that now threatens its former allies, neighbours and partners, and for two of NATO’s member states threatened annexation, that takes some real fucking nerve America.
Those of us in the west, are neither complacent nor hopeless. What we are is fed up with America’s fascist acts that threaten the rest of us with their inability and unwillingness to follow international law that underpins international agreements and a rules-based system.
illustrating both his and his whole administration’s arrogance, ignorance and stupidity, — which by now the world can clearly see is going to remain the norm for the US until such time as his Lordship is deposed or he has an infarct and becomes Presidential vapourware, Rubio, continued;
“Gaining control of national borders was not an expression of xenophobia or hate, he said. “It is a fundamental act of national sovereignty. And the failure to do so is not just an abdication of one of our most basic duties owed to our people, it is an urgent threat to the fabric of our societies and the survival of civilization itself.”
The borders of other Sovereign nations is none of America’s business. Period. America should look after its internal problems where more than fifty percent of the electorate would like to see this entire administration hanging on Pennsylvania Avenue from the light standards.
America’s fascist actions that fail to conform to the actions of a democracy and fail to meet international law IS the problem.
Rubio then said that ‘rebuilding the global order would not be necessary or the dismantling of institutions such as the UN, but that it was necessary to reform and rebuild them.
We, outside the US agree. The members of NATO and most of the members of the UIN would like to see the US leave NATO, leave Europe and return its troops home to America. We would like to see the US close its airbases, land bases and port facilities and move all of its personnel out of foreign countries.
Rubio then made the most asinine statement of the entire conference.
“Trump, not the UN, was solving crises in Gaza and Ukraine.”
This is exactly the problem. America feels that it has the right to unilaterally intervene, wherever its self-interest dictates that it wants to. By killing 73,000 mostly innocent Palestinians in Gaza through the provision of weapons and munitions to a genocidal sociopath willing to rain death from the air onto defenceless people, — to starve them and provide no medical aid? If that’s your measure of ‘solving crises’, then America, you’re fucking heroes.
You have simply ensured that hate and retribution will continue for generations.
Kudos America. Fucking impressive.
As for Ukraine, America provided weapons, yes, — but solving the crisis? Please, that begs incredulity. The US has done almost nothing, except roll out a fucking red carpet to another genocidal Russian dictator, literally in Alaska, while doing as little as possible to bring any resolution to the end of the war by actually standing up to a dictatorial tyrant.
Putin must have pictures of Donald screwing 12 year olds on Epstein’s island or Trump’s ex-‘model’, ex-immigrant wife being nasty with Epstein because Trump — fears Putin. The rest of the world wonders openly whether Trump is either a total coward (personally I have no doubts) or Putin has a pile of evidence on Trump that would send him to prison for treason. Trump just isn’t accommodating Russia’s mass murderer in accomplishing anything in relation to the Ukraine War, he’s actually acting like his best buddy.
So please Rubio, get off your knees, or at least, take off the kneepads.
But it didn’t end there, the onslaught of pure arrogance continued,
“We cannot continue to allow those who blatantly and openly threaten our citizens and endanger our global stability to shield themselves behind abstractions of international law which they themselves routinely violate.
International Law, an abstraction? You total half-wit. That’s what the entire International order is based on!
It’s time for the rest of the world to tell the US to just ‘go home’. Get the hell out of our countries, take your dog and pony show with you, and be the isolationist and protectionist country you were meant to be.
Unpacking the Utter Bullshit From These Statements
The US seems to think that the rest of the world ‘requires’ America. We not only don’t, we disagree with almost all of America’s self-interested assertions that this administration believes in.
America is simply an arrogant will-be fascist state. The only thing that is stopping the US from going full blown Cosa Nostra on the western world is that fact that men, like Mark Carney, International figures of intelligence and actual talent will call out America and its current fascist regime.
The EU, Canada, and virtually all of the nations of the west, want nothing to do with the US. Its military is as much a threat to world peace as Russia’s is. The US is simply a rogue state today. It thinks it has some ‘ordained right’ to threaten, coerce and even invade other countries (if the west had no courage, which it does) if it thought it could get away with it.
Like the cowardly little bully that the fat man actually is; the world will not bow down to a man who rapes children, lies pathologically, is a complete racist and xenophobe, and who has no ethics, no honour, no loyalty and no intelligence.
Sorry Donald.
As Mark Carney stated; ‘the old order is over, we should not mourn it, it is not coming back.”
German Chancellor said it clearly yesterday when he addressed Rubio specifically.
“The culture war of the Maga movement is not ours. Freedom of speech ends here with us when that speech is directed against human dignity and the basic law. We do not believe in tariffs and protectionism, but in free trade. We stand by our climate agreements and the World Health Organization.”
In a direct jab at Trump, Merz then said;
“In the age of great powers, our freedom is no longer a given. It is threatened. Firmness and willpower will be needed to assert this freedom. Autocracies may have followers, but democracies have partners and allies.”
“Big powers make their own rules, Merz said. It is fast, harsh and often unpredictable. These powers exploit natural resources, technologies and supply chains, using them as bargaining tools.”
“It is crucial for the continent to change its mindset and fully exploit the ‘enormous’ military, political, economic and technological potential of a ‘sovereign Europe’, He stated, “Germany was striving for partnership-based leadership in Europe” that retained no hegemonic fantasies.
To be blunt, the rest of the world will no longer listen to threats of coercion, economic tariff threats or threats of annexation. It’s time for the rest of the world to go its own way, as independent nations that are sovereign and that honour international law, human rights, free speech and free trade.
America can no longer be trusted and won’t be in the future.
