A Whole Society Defence Plan

Canada has little choice but to defend itself

Twenty one months ago, I wrote an article entitled, “The Finlandization of Canada”. In it, I spoke about how Canada’s geography and history worked against it having created a strong military, as being adjacent to the most powerful military and ‘superpower’ meant that such action made little sense. But times indeed do change and the reality is that America has evolved, — and obviously, not for the better.

As I stated then, it seemed patently obvious to me that the United States was interested in seizing Canada’s sizeable assets, any way that it could. Typically this had been accomplished by direct investment and ownership of companies that offered America control over Canadian resources. Today America is no longer interested in simple financial acquisition, it wants control and the ability to dictate policy in relation to those assets. If it cannot do so through ownership, then it has decided to do so by threats of intervention and subjugation, which has essentially become America’s stated objective in relation to not just Canada, but the whole western hemisphere as stated in Project 2025 since the Fascist King came to power.

America has now become a fascist imperialist country, that now believes that it is in its best interests to no longer maintain allies, treaties, friendships or trade relationships based on quid-pro-quo policies and long-lasting relationships but transactional military threats, coercion or direct intervention, if the other options are unsuccessful in gaining Canada’s subjugation. The USA essentially sees Canada as a buffet from which it will select whatever it likes to satiate its appetite.

As Mark Carney stated at Davos. “If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu.”

America today only believes in hegemony not national sovereignty, certainly not in relation to the sovereignty of other nations, and certainly not in relation to mutual benefit.

America has decided that not only is greed good, but stealing or invading other nations in order to plunder their resources is a perfectly acceptable method of international action and policy.

America has now decided to forego its prior relationships developed on the basis of mutual benefit and respect, for a new militaristic ‘winner takes all zero-sum’ strategy of international foreign policy. America has thrown off the cloak of democracy and with it, its facade of ‘fake’ American joint interest that once created collaboration and cooperation, for one of domination and subjugation without pretence or quarter.

The winner shall take all, is America today.

I am far from clairvoyant, but I am a good judge of character, unlike Americans and their choice of what constitutes leadership, decency or intelligence, — obviously.

The choice of acting to place a man completely devoid of any character, honour, intelligence or truth, in charge of the most powerful nation in the world, has led America to a place where it now is, and will remain, entirely and utterly alone.

And surprisingly, to me, a place where Americans seem to feel that being an international pariah and untrusted by the entire world. — is just fine, so long as they, the American people see ‘profit’ in the process.

And so it is that America has become a rogue state, as the world’s democracies see it, capable of the most heinous acts of providing 25,000 tonnes of high explosive ordinance to a genocidal killer so that he can rain death of innocent civilians, women and children, and that he can invade and kill other nations citizens against international law and America’s own laws, that use to at least mean something to Americans. America has even cut off humanitarian aid to Africa, which will kill millions. And now is effectively starving an entire country, simply because of its ideology even though the choices were made generations ago, and none of those alive had any part in those actions. It’s all good as long as America’s greed is satiated.

No nation today can trust America. No nation is willing to trust Americans, irrespective of their claimed beliefs. No nation is willing to believe that any ‘trade’ or ‘defence’ agreements made by the United States will be honoured. No nation, no organization, no trade entity, believes anything that America has to say in terms of America protecting anyone but America’s self-interests.

America has proven it is untrustworthy and no longer worth being a member of the international community of democratic nations.

Canada Has Had to Learn a Hard Lesson

America is not a friend. America is not an ally. America is not a partner.

Therefore, as I stated almost two years ago, Canada must do as Finland did with Russia for most of its history, create a military capability and whole society defence infrastructure that is strong and resilient enough such that the powerful nation next door cannot easily invade and steal the nation’s wealth or resources.

Of course it can still do so and win.

But winning will come at incredible costs.

So, for Canada, like Finland, like Norway, like Sweden, developing a whole society defence is the only rational solution.

Canada has never had the need or wish to create a military ‘society’. Canada has never had any Imperial designs. It was and is still a peaceful nation.

Finland, on the other hand, being 1/30 the population of its neighbour, Russia, has always had to face one fact. Russia, through its imperialist aims constituted and would always constitute an existential threat to the survival of Finland. Unlike Canada, that believed that the benefits of 80 years of trade and a joint belief in Continental protection, in union with the United States, would always enable a situation where the benefits of collaboration and cooperation would override conquest by the larger partner.

That has proven to be a naive assumption.

And so, we will no longer harbour any illusions or allusions about the United States of America.

Which not only begs the question, “Why did Canada not see the writing on the wall?”

And why did Canada’s federal politicians not act when America’s intentions became clearly evident, — at least eleven years ago?

America’s Intent Has Been Obvious

America’s Project 2025 lays out the objectives of the United States of America, and they are obviously designed to increase America’s holdings, territory, wealth and control over all other nations that it deems worthy of its attention.

Recently, Canada’s Prime Minister not only stated, but committed to the militarization of Canada, and what is to be a national ‘whole society’ defence plan against aggression, annexation, invasion or control by any other nation.

However, for Canada’s younger generation, it would seem that having no understanding or appreciation for what that would entail has led many to suggest that the concept is wholly unnecessary and a flawed assumption of America’s intentions.

Personally, I think that they, those in Canada who are ‘accommodationists’, are risking their very futures to naivety and ignorance.

The Return to Great Nation Conflicts

In a world where nations that have stronger militaries, and less ethics or morals, like the United States of America today, the only recourse for the world’s democracies is, and will be, to ‘band together’ in order to withstand aggression, be it from Russia or a newly aggressive, untrustworthy and fascist United States of America.

It behooves the Canadian Federal Government to act as quickly as possible to purchase weapons, uniforms, munitions and all ancillary and necessary equipment for the Supplemental Reserve, Canada’s proposed 300,000 member domestic defence force. By so doing and initiating training, Canadians will have at least the means to make the cost of the US attacking Canada a very expensive one over the long term.

Asymmetrical warfare against powerful opposing forces requires citizens to have the capacity to resist, not for days, months or years, but generations if necessary. By reintroducing conscription and by Canada building its domestic military industrial complex, so that it can ‘at scale’ produce the necessary munitions and weapons necessary to create and sustain a protracted resistance that will cost significant blood and treasure to the enemy, is requisite.

Canada has decided that it will build a military force capable and equipped for a multipolar world where conflict and wars are much more likely than today.

There is now even the question of Canada developing nuclear weapons, not for offensive operations but for the capability of second strike in the event of invasion. Canada has everything it requires to do so, and can have its own nuclear deterrence within three years if it so wishes.

Retired General Wayne Eyre stated that exactly, and publicly, just one week ago.

Many, many Canadians now agree with that consideration.

Building a nuclear deterrent force similar in size to what Britain or France have maintained for at least 65 years may well be wise. Canada can no longer trust the US to protect Canadian interests, at all. In fact, as is now obvious, America may be the source of an invasion.

America looks to be the enemy in the future.
