Sorry America – We’re Not Interested
Political Editorial Opinion
I find it amazing that the U.S., which has willfully gone out of its way out to hurt its former allies, without any rationale, without logic, without reason, other than America felt it could extort the rest of the world, including its ‘former’ allies, —now wants and even expects NATO nations to ‘assist’ America in opening the Straits of Hormuz.
Hubris in this administration is massive, but even more so, arrogance.
The NATO nations, and the world’s democracies, were never consulted, then they were denigrated by the Great American Blowhard, then threatened, and now there is ongoing a ‘full court press’ diplomatically to get those nations that America has attacked, yes attacked, to somehow come to America’s aid.
Ummm… no.
Drop all your tariffs. Leave NATO, get out of Europe, Canada and any other nation where you have military bases, and then, maybe there’ll be some constructive dialogue.
What Dough Boy has accomplished, is quite something.
In one year, America has become an international pariah. NATO, Europe, Canada, and especially now those nations most impacted by America’s stupidity, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the Republic of Korea, are incensed by U.S. actions in attacking Iran, a sovereign nation and with America’s threat to eliminate the Persian culture.
If ever the world needed a better example of US xenophobia, racism, Islamophobia and simply pure, unadulterated ignorance, it is now evident in 5K for all the world to clearly see, assimilate and be repulsed by.
America is not a democracy. It is a kleptocratic, fascist and religious theocracy. We don’t respect it, we don’t want to be part of it, and we don’t want to trade or interact with it.
We expressly do not want to retain a relationship where the U.S. will dictate to sovereign nations what they ‘must and must not do’.
Those decisions are each nations right, and of self-determination.
America’s Soft-Power, Is No More, And It’s Hard Power is Waning
Nations are attracted to other nations that are of like mind. In the case of the western democracies, that means the rule of law, international trade and the rules of International criminal law, freedom of the press, freedom of religion (or from it), freedom of speech, — in fact, all of the principles listed below.
- Respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms
- Freedom of association
- Freedom of expression and opinion
- Access to power and its exercise in accordance with the rule of law
- The holding of periodic free and fair elections by universal suffrage and by secret ballot as the expression of the will of the people
- A pluralistic system of political parties and organizations
- The separation of powers
- The independence of the judiciary
- Transparency and accountability in public administration
- Free, independent and pluralistic media
Instead, the former allies of the US, it’s once friends, and trade partners have seen each and every one of these freedoms abrogated, ignored or dismantled. America is no longer a democratic country. It is run by a kleptocrat backed by fascist plutocrats and Christian religious zealots.
And simply put, we want nothing to do with the United States.
The old order, is over.
No amount of backtracking by the U.S. will change the reality that the rest of the world is witnessing.
America is a threat to global stability and world peace.
America’s Influence is Now Over
Sure, you can threaten. It’s about all you’re truly consistent about, but you’re not even good at it.
Iran, a country with no real Air Force and a GDP that is 1.5% of that of the United States, is maintaining the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
And, because the U.S. has alienated the world’s democracies, no one is willing to help.
What goes around, comes around.
Maybe the U.S. through its actions will find that protectionism and isolationism based on xenophobia, hate, retribution, greed and the will to invade other countries is going to make life, just a little tougher, and a whole lot less predictable.
Invading and stealing the resources of other countries, while making up some cockamamy excuse may well mollify and subdue Americans, but ignoring the rule of law, international laws and the entire International Rules-based order, means that for the rest of the democratic nations of the world, America is no longer a trusted member.
It has proven it cannot be trusted. It has proven that it knows no truth.
The United States of America is a rogue state, and should be treated as one.
So a coalition?
No.
Coalitions have to trust their fellow members.
And, as I just explained, we don’t trust America.
Soon, we won’t even be trading with America, and we won’t be buying anything from America.
You don’t want friends and allies. You want subjects and supplicants.
We’re neither.
