It’s Time for the West To Band Together Against the United States

Economically through trade and de-dollarization, and; through a new military force, combined military industrial complex and a new joint structure for defence in the future.

This week Hugo Dixon of Reuters wrote an article that I have attempted to focus on, – now for over a year.

https://www.reuters.com/breakingviews/global-markets-breakingviews-2025-04-14/

In it Dixon’s thesis is that the western world, including the EU, Japan, the U.K., the ROK, Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and several other nations ‘need to reduce their dependency on Washington while not becoming reliant on China.

That means weaning ourselves off the dollar, boosting cooperation in trade and defence, and reaching out to emerging economies such as India.”

I could not agree more.

Dixon specifically looks at the statements of Mark Carney, the Prime Minister of Canada, whose intent to create a new order, that would balance against an irrational, hegemonic and aggressive America is necessary.

Dethroning the Dollar

As Dixon suggests, besides Trump tearing up the world’s trading system, his administration is undermining faith in the dollar, which accounts for 58% of official reserves.

He states, “Stephen Moran, chair of the U.S. Council of Economic Advisers, has complained that the greenback’s status as the world’s preferred reserve currency means it is chronically overvalued. He has floated a number of ideas to remedy this including forcing allies to swap short-term Treasury bonds for 100 year government debt in return for benefitting from the U.S. security umbrella.

A mistake to be sure, as none of us trust America anymore.

Instead, the European Union has a chance to promote the Euro, which accounts for 20% of official reserves, thereby gaining some of the privileges that now accrue to the dollar. This would lower its borrowing costs while reducing Washington’s ability to use financial blackmail.“

It’s time for the west to strengthen its position economically and militarily. The EU, Canada, Japan, Korea, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand, can no longer trust the United States, as is obvious. The US has clearly illustrated that fact repeatedly in the last year.

The EU needs to issue Euro bonds and use those funds to further build a completely new European Armed Forces. Such expenditures and a newly strengthened security posture will help stave off recession, while further developing a cross-border defence industries. Canada is already onboard, and the ROK and Japan are quickly realizing that alignment with the U.S. defence industry is not the answer for the future.

The risks in trusting America, are far too great.

Beyond an American Future

A new combined western ‘club’, if you will, that includes that aforementioned nations, have shared interests and values. And collectively, these nations account for 30% of global output or GDP last year, compared with America’s 27%, and China’s 17%.

The rest of the world combined, accounts for the remaining 26% of global GDP.

Brazil, India, Turkey, Mexico and the ASEAN-5 group account for 11% of that 26% from the remaining nations of the world.

The new order of the ‘club’ of the west, for the sake of a better name, will benefit from economies of scale. A place where capital will flow to places with the best returns and solid new supply chains will exist.

The new western ‘Club’, which Mark Carney has postulated could well be called the Global Trade Organization would become the ‘third leg’ of a multipolar order that balances both trade and with respect to military strength, agains America, and China, (the principle backer of Russia).

And while Russia is a threat, it is not half the threat that the United States as a truly fascist kleptocracy has become.

Beijing is looking for new partners, meanwhile the U.S as an active hegemony that is stalking the world to steal the wealth of those nations incapable of resisting American aggression, it may be incredibly wise for such a western club to rapidly formalize its ties, — something that Canada has actively been doing, having inked fourteen new such initiatives in the last 16 months. Canada is intent on creating a new Global Trade Organization that will no longer be subject to Donald Trump’s tariffs and zero-sum games.

And as nations strengthen their resolve to resist, they are becoming immune to America’s constant drumbeat of threats.

Threats are increasingly of less and less influence as the world realizes that ‘together’, they can act to ensure that America will simply find itself alone, without friends, without allies and without trade partners in the years to come.

America looks like a global threat, acts like a global threat and takes pride in its ignorance and arrogance.

So be it.

The rest of us will simply work together against America, and in doing so; be much better off without America.
