NATO: Safer Without America

NATO, going forward, will be safer without the United States. The U.S. is an impediment to enabling Ukraine to defend itself and to win against Russia. NATO should immediately put ground troops into Ukraine and act as a backstop against Russian aggression.

Apparently Trump thinks NATO stands for “Now America’s To Own”. Sorry Donald, not ever.

If Russian attempts to push further into Ukraine and engage NATO forces, then NATO should defend Ukraine and push the Russians out of Ukraine and Crimea entirely. NATO members are ramping up their force structure and will, if necessary take the fight to Putin and Russia.

NATO doesn’t need a fair weather friend like America anymore. America is proving itself to be a liability to the defence of Europe, throwing Ukraine under the bus, while pretending to support a ceasefire that favours and rewards Russia’s aggression.

Canada will increase its military spending dramatically, rearming the Canadian Armed Forces with new Aircraft, Ships, Submarines, Tanks, IFV’s, and doubling the size of the forces over the next five years. It will build two new military bases in the Arctic capable of air, land and sea support for Canada’s new ships, aircraft, and submarines. It will likely institute conscription in order to assure the CAF that they have the manpower necessary.

The facts are that Canadians no longer trust America. We don’t want to be associated with America and will as quickly as possible ink new trade and defence agreements with democratic nations, including in the Pacific.

What America has succeeded in doing, is creating a northern neighbour who wants to ostracize America, in every avenue, militarily, in trade, commerce and tourism.

America is no friend, America is no ally, America is unworthy of friendship.
