Yesterday, Volodomyr Zelenskyy called for the creation of an “army of Europe” to guard against Russia and its attack on Ukraine. He suggested that Ukraine ‘would never accept deals made behind our backs without our involvement’.
He also stated that “America has made it clear that decades of the old relationship between Europe and America has ended.”
It is time.
America cannot be trusted. Trump has sold out Ukraine, and Europe, just as he has attacked Canada economically, for now.
And now Hegseth has stated that “it is unlikely that Ukraine will join NATO.”
Excuse me Mr. Trump? It isn’t America’s decision. It just fucking isn’t. It’s up to the consensus of the membership, not simply the United Fucking States.
So if you aren’t going to support NATO, then fuck off now. Let them look after ‘their’ interests, instead of America’s ‘self-interest’.
You’ve already sold out Ukraine for some unknown quid pro quo with Putin.
America has no honour, no truth. You are a liability to democracy in this world and cannot be trusted.
When EU’s army is formalized, it should require America to have no say, no control in how, what, when, where or why it defends Europe’s interests.
I look at this way. Suppose you are a Ukrainian family with five family members, but one of them is now dead due to Russian aggression. Do you turn to the other three and say,
“It’s too bad about your brother, but at least we get to keep the living room, the kitchen, bathroom and one bedroom?”
Seriously?
Fuck OFF America.
The world doesn’t need you. It doesn’t want you, It doesn’t trust you.
You might as well be Nazi Germany, because to the rest of the world right now, you are.
Canadians will support NATO. Canadians will support Ukraine. Canadians will support Europe, and we will continue to not just send Canadian troops, who are now in Lithuania, but increase our numbers substantively in the future.
Canada defended Europe against another fascist, starting on September 1st, 1939, not because they were forced into defence.
We are Europeans, not just in words, but in deed. The vast majority of Canadian’s families came from Europe. They are brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, grandparents. We, in Canada, will not turn our backs on the EU.
In fact, we will break the mold and request membership in the EU, and request membership in the EU Army because we believe in having the back of Europe.
As for America?
Go Away…and stay away. WE don’t want and or need you.
