Today, J.D. Vance proved himself to be nothing but a right wing redneck. A contemptible boor with about as much knowledge of Europe and International Affairs as a kid in Junior High (sorry kids, I don’t mean to disrespect you).
The fact is that Vance and his populist and fascist boss, are exactly what Europeans detest. They’ve lived fascism. Just as we in Canada have no interest whatsoever in supporting a populist oligarchy and soon to be full-blown fascist country.
Vance is ignorant. Plain and simple. He knows nothing about Europe, nothing about their experience, and nothing about much in general. What Vance calls free speech, is currently considered racist and hate speech.
The German president, Frank-Walter Stenmeier, accused Trump and tech barons of being willing to destroy democracy. He said: “It is clear that the new American administration holds a worldview that is very different from our own. One that shows no regard for established rules, for partnerships or for the trust that has been built over time. But I am convinced that it is not in the interest of the international community for this worldview to become the dominant paradigm.”
Germany’s defence minister, Boris Pistorius, said he could not let the speech to without comment.
“If I understood him correctly, he is comparing conditions in parts of Europe with those in authoritarian regimes. This is unacceptable, and it is not the Europe and not the democracy in which I live and I am currently campaigning.”
Vance supports hate speech. He wants to have the ability to lie and have other nations, infinitely more astute than America to swallow his wholesale bullshit. In fact, last week he met with the far right party in Germany where he was likely schooled on their need to stop immigration and to enable “free speech”. A euphemism for hate speech, which of course Vance not only condones, but actively supports. How else will the far right spread its hatred if not through “hate, I mean, free speech”.
Sorry son. You’re not in Ohio anymore. You might want to read some history and talk to a few intelligent people before you go to Europe and make a complete ass out of America, and yourself.
Unlike America. Populist governments are not what the rest of world aspires to becoming. America has in the space of weeks, illustrated to the world, everything that the rest of us don’t want any part of. Arrogance, ignorance, coercive attacks on neighbours.
America has, in the short space of a month, become an international pariah.
How can I say this politely, hmmm….fuck off America.
