Imposing Visas on Americans

Now that America has imposed a ‘registration’ on Canadians travelling to the U.S. for more than 30 days, it would seem entirely rational for Canada to impose time limited visas on Americans entering Canada.

Should Americans wish to enter Canada, they should have to provide an approved Visa in addition to the previous requirement for a passport, etc.

America has acted, not as an ally or friend since the Trump administration took office. Canada should impose visas with a finite time limit that requires where the applicant intends to stay in Canada, and for how long.

As Canada can no longer assume that Americans are friends, it would be wise to ensure that Canadian authorities know exactly where those entering Canada will be at any given time.

Few Canadians will be travelling to the United States in the next four years. The impetus to sell off American investments in housing and other purchases will assist in Canadians reinvesting in Canada, the EU and other allies, offshore.

America does not want partners, friends or allies.

It simply wants subjects, dependents and subordinates.

Well that’s about as likely as America becoming a democracy tomorrow.

No thanks. We’ll gladly stay, invest and relish the lives we have, living in the best country on earth.

Canada.
