Unless The “Emergency Switch” is Disabled
As has been proven by what has transpired since Trump took office in the U.S., a number of nations from the EU as well as Canada have orders for F-35 aircraft pending.
However, “a software back-door switch will turn the aircraft off if the client state does not follow Washington’s diktat in the USA of the F-35.”

Germany has, as of today stated that it may refuse to purchase American F-35 fighter jets over the issue. Instead Germany may buy the Eurofighter Typhoon Tranche 5, which has many advanced features that fifth generation aircraft have.
The rational is simple, according to the German Tabloid “Bild”.
“If we have to worry that the U.S. might do with future German F-35’s what it is currently doing with Ukraine, we might consider terminating (to buy F-35 jets), said Wolfgang Ishinger, former head of the Munich Security Conference.
Canada is very likely to do the same, with consideration being given to Saab’s Gripen E fighter as a replacement.
The Danish government is equally disturbed with this new knowledge. Michael Schollhorn, the CEO of Airbus Defence stated;
“The Danes, with their American F-35 planes, realize that it may be not such a good idea, if they were to one day have the idea of defending Greenland. They would not even get that far.”
Canada will not receive its first tranche of F-35 fighters until September of 2026. If Lockheed does not disable the software back door, Canada should not accept the aircraft and immediately seek an alternative from the EU, our ally.
DND in Canada has stated that it has concerns, and any statement from the White House to suggest that software upgrades to the F-35’s will occur, falls on deaf ears at this point, as Canada is watching America disable Ukraine’s defence capability through its StarLink and weapon’s systems software.
Can Canada afford to gamble?
Absolutely not. America cannot be trusted. America lies at its convenience. Why would we ever trust America again?
Obviously, we shouldn’t.
Cancellation of the F-35 program should now occur, and a new agreement signed with either Airbus or Saab for Canada’s replacement fighters.
How do you trust a nation that breaks every agreement it makes with foreign nations?
You simply, don’t.
