The electric Edsel’s fortunes are only going to get worse, and fast. In China, Tesla sales have fallen off a cliff. BYD has eaten their lunch, dinner and bedtime snack this year.
While in Europe, BYD is opening three new plants and numerous showrooms for BYD vehicles.
Volkswagen, already in trouble, will bring six new electric vehicles and two plug-in hybrids to market, in a new strategic agreement with Chinese manufacturers Xpeng and Ecarx to put more advanced software suites into VW cars.
In China, for western manufacturers, it’s either step up or get out. And for VW, China represents one third of its global sales, so getting out is not an option.
BYD on the other hand has global expansion plans in an effort to avoid anti-China tariffs. It plans to build a new plant, its’ third, in Germany. BYD has a new plant in Hungary and will open a new plant in Turkey in 2026.
Tesla, on the other hand is trying to stop the bleeding, but patching the hole in its femoral artery isn’t working.
Red is the new company colour, and it’s everywhere.
Tesla’s only hope is domestically, as internationally, countries hit by senseless tariffs designed to damage their economies react by opening their markets to direct competitors to Tesla.
The people making real money in relation to Tesla are those short-selling its stock. Today short sellers landed a $16.2 billion dollar payday on Tesla’s stock plunge.
As of today, Elon Musk holds the record for the largest personal fortune lost. Since 2021, Doge Boy has lost $182 Billion dollars, which according to Investopedia.com, is “the greatest loss in history.”
It seems that, like his orange maned mentor, both are destined to prove that ignorance, is not bliss.

In any event, the ‘stable genious’ and his adopted son, Ketamine Doge Boy, are about to run into a buzz saw of angry voters in the U.S. as the American economy will slide into recession and every financial indicator takes a dive.
America deserves it. America voted for ignorance, arrogance and a pathological lying sociopath.
It hasn’t taken long to illustrate how incompetence and ignorance are now America’s trademark.
We, in the rest of the western world, will do everything possible to distance ourselves from America. Whether in the geopolitical, economic or security environment, we want nothing to do with a nation bent on lies, hate, extortion and narcissism.
