Tesla’s race to oblivion continues, with Tesla closing down another 4.17% so far today. Elon’s scintillating personality, his arrogance, his ignorance and his all-round dislikability has resulted in Tesla, which should be doing well, imploding faster than a black hole.
Tesla’s global sales have been waning, well before the Ketamine Doge Boy decided to help America dismember democracy. But with his helping hand, democracy has been given a shove off the precipice.
On top of all of this, even the federal courts now have no effect on this administration, which is willing to ignore them without any concern for the rule of law in America.
The good news for the EV industry is all about BYD, the innovative, profitable and massively growing alternative to Tesla, that is protected by the U.S. government. America has placed a 100% tariff on BYD, being the good competitive capitalist economy they are, yet BYD’s growth has been remarkable around the world.
And due now to Donald’s incredible talent in trade policy, many nations that were formally allies of America are removing tariffs to China and between nations to advance trade and replace American hegemony, globally.
Today, BYD unveiled a a new Super e-platform technology which allows 1,000 kilowatt charging of its vehicles which can now travel over 400 kilometers on a “5” minute charge.
If there was anything that Tesla did not need in relation to its international competition, it was an EV that costs half as much, looks better, offers more, and now, can travel 400 kilometers on a five minute charge.
Today, BYD’s shares jumped 6% alone, and its stock is up over 50%, year to year. Last year, BYD sold 4.27 million EV’s. This year looks to eclipse that number substantively.
Canada, with a similar tariff on China’s 97 EV models, should completely drop the tariff. It would aid electrification in Canada and greatly improve CO2 emissions, which are at an all-time high as of this week.
While sales of BYD and other Chineses manufacturers in Canada would be great news for consumers, who generally do not suffer from either the myopia or racist views found in America, it would severely damage Ford, Chevrolet and Stellantis.
How long Canada will continue to protect American car manufacturers that do part of their production in Canada, is anyone’s guess. But it Canada truly wants to improve the greening of Canada’s transportation sector and lower emissions towards global warming, then it needs to stop the hypocrisy and allow Chinese vehicles to compete and sell in the Canadian market.
So what can you do with your $143,000 CDN Tesla Cybertruck?
They make awesome planters for the driveways of the rich and upwardly less mobile.
I mean, it would be the ultimate statement of arrogance, wouldn’t it?
An electric planter, for the neighbours to envy.
Well, less power to you.
