What does Party Affiliation and identity politics offer voters?
Rather than voting for an individual, his character, his ability, his or her intelligence and sense of ethics and morality (not religion, I might add), America is bent on voting collectives of ignorance.
It doesn’t seem to matter if the man, the person, has no redeemable qualities. A man can lie, rape, steal, degrade others, be devoid of empathy, intelligence or reason, — and yet, in America in particular, because he or she is defined by a party, whose truth itself is in question, people will vote for him or her.
This is asinine. This is madness by design.
Today, America (in particular, not solely) will elect someone on the basis of their supposed affiliation, their ‘intent’, whether or not there is any proof that it applies to the individual in question.
Party politics needs to end. There should be no lobbyists, they should be banned. Political action committees or PAC’s should also be banned. Those with money have an inordinate influence on the political process and the political agenda.
It’s time that a candidate stood for office on the value of his character, his actions, his beliefs. And all of those abilities, beliefs and actions should be carefully analyzed, not hidden or ignored.
Character matters. Abilities matter. Intelligence matters. Cogency matters. Empathy matters.
Today, party politics has become identity politics, ignoring the very innate character of those being elected.
Why did America vote for a man without any redeeming qualities? A man who has raped, stolen, hates, lies pathologically? Why is a man who has gone bankrupt five times even a candidate for a role that holds the public purse? How is it that convicted felon is a man of ‘substance’, worthy of the highest office in the land? Doesn’t misogyny, racism and lies tell you all you need to know about a man’s character, and more importantly, how he will act once given unmitigated power?
How is kleptocracy and love of autocracy worthy of office within a democracy?
And the most important question of all is this?
If Americans don’t care about truth, capability, honesty, empathy, kindness, sexual deviancy, racist and misogynous attitudes, then what are they voting for?
America is a reflection of all of the evil, lawlessness, violence and hate inside its society.
Just look at how many Americans kill other Americans!
We, outside the U.S., truly want nothing from America but its indifference.
If you implode, then so be it. Americans will not remedy the cause of their problems simply because they neither admit to them or fail to identify them.
America, and its politics has become a cesspool that the world fears.
Normally it wouldn’t matter, if military power was not part of the equation.
Were the U.S., Botswana, no one would give a damn.
But America has the most powerful military in the world and the largest nuclear arsenal in the world.
And now, it has the most unhinged leader in the world.
This is not a good combination.
And you wonder why we outside America want to ‘get away’ from you and your influence.
Go stand in front of the mirror.
What do you see when you ask, “Are my values represented by Trump?”
If you answer yes.
America is truly doomed.
