Okay America, so you believe you’re above the law, whether domestically or internationally.
“We can do whatever we want.”
“We want Greenland. We want Canada. We want Panama. And for Xmas, we’d like France, maybe Germany.”
If it weren’t for the fact that Donald actually is the President of the United States, contrary to all rational and reasoned thought processes, the above statements, simply on the face of them, would be words from a lunatic.
But the lunatic exists. And the lunatic thinks he can ‘take’ whatever he wants, because the whole world, he believes, is his fiefdom.
Unfortunately, asinine statements aside, no, Mr. Trump, you can’t.
You can certainly invade, but the result would be the most disastrous incursion by a nation in history, bar none.
Canadians are intelligent.
Can you defeat a military, a 20th your size?
Of course you can.
But, the reality is that an asynchronous war that lasts generation, not years, would mean the deaths of tens of thousands of American kids, because we’d take the war to New York, L.A., Chicago, Atlanta, Miami and Houston.
Nowhere and no one in the U.S. would be safe, for generations.
And it is isn’t a threat. Canadians have virtually no interest in America, now or in the future.
Who wants to be part of a nation where the leader is a pathological liar, convicted rapist, racist and misogynist. Who wants to be part of a theocracy that hates anyone who is not ‘Christian’, — even though that oxymoron is the greatest joke of all?
Americans are as Christian as they are ‘hate-filled’.
Who wants to be part of a nation that destroys its own educational system, environmental agency, Department of Health and vaccine research facilities?
Who wants to be part of a nation where theocrats decide for women, how they should look after their reproductive health?
Who wants to be part of a nation that bans abortions, even in the event of rape or incest?
Who wants to be part of a nation that hates, people simply because of their gender, and tells them what gender they will be?
Who wants to be part of a nation where there are two sets of laws, one for the rich and one for the rest?
Who wants to be part of a nation that finds its military prowess is more important than educating its people, or ensuring their health, or that they can retire with dignity?
Who wants to be part of a nation where the 1% own 95% of the wealth, and where taxes on the middle class and the poor ensure tax breaks for the rich?
Not I.
Not any Canadian.
Nor anyone with an intellect that doesn’t border on an ignoramus.
That’s the purview of America.
That’s the future of America.
And we, in Canada, want no part of it.
We will determine our own futures, and we will move away from America and its negative influences at warp speed.
We have resources and mineral wealth. We have a people who know what value an education provides.
We have friends and alliances that we trust and hold dear.
We are not thieves, we are not liars and we are not would-be Americans.
We, are done with America, and we won’t be coming back.
Canada is a sovereign nation that will never roll-over for America.
We wish you luck, because it appears, you are going to need all the luck you can muster.
