Who Trusts America? Not Even Bonds, eh?

Trust in America is waning, and why not. It’s about as predictable as a tornado in a snowstorm.

The fact is that trust n America is waning, in every measure that exists.

The reasons are obvious.

America elected a man who is a pathological liar, who has gone bankrupt five times, who is a convicted felon, convicted rapist, racist, misogynist, sociopath and kleptocrat.

Other than that, I’m sure he’s fine.

Really?

As if anyone needed a reason to not trust America?

In the space of ninety days it has attacked its allies economically, befriended its enemies, supported a dictator, threatened to withdraw from NATO, stated that it would annex a neighbouring sovereign country who for 75 years was an ally, and started a trade war with the entire world.

And Americans are surprised we have stated that “the previous relationship, partnerships, and alliances, are over.”

Odd isn’t it?

I suppose we were to just roll over and say, “come on in America”.

Well we haven’t, we won’t and we’ll never join the United States.

We like our sanity, our intelligence, our educational system.

We love the fact that we’re multicultural, that we respect other people and races, that we have empathy and tolerance for those less fortunate.

We love our social systems, Medicare, CPP and OAS system.

We look after the aged, and those in other nations that are poor or have no working democracies.

In Canada, when we say, “We the People”, we really mean it.

Not just the rich, those who are white, educated and rich.

That’s America…

And now, the truth has finally begun to illustrate that fact.

The world no longer trusts America.

Not even the dollar.

People don’t want to invest in treasury bonds in America any more, and why should they?

No one knows if America is good for the money anymore.

Debt is exploding. Tariffs are destroying the dollar, the economy, the futures, and no one is confident that the President is either sane or competent.

So what’s going to happen when China decides to dump 750 billion dollars of American bonds on the market?

A crash.

And when it comes, others like Japan, may have no choice but to do the same. Two trillion dollars of American debt destabilizing a government that is already completely unhinged.

The E.U., may find that the Euro is the defacto reserve currency.

Trust isn’t something that comes back like the stock market.

Trust, is ephemeral, intangible, but the most valuable commodity on earth.

For without it, there is no investment, no growth.

Simply fear, loss and contraction, day by day, until there is nothing left to contract.

That is where this economic psychotic break is taking America, and the world.

And you wonder why we don’t trust you?

Look in the mirror America.

Look in the fucking mirror.
