If I hear Trump state one more time that,
“I don’t think the American public wants me to subsidize Canada to the tune of 200 Billion dollars”,
I think I’ll lose it, completely.
Trump: Your so called ‘subsidy’ isn’t a subsidy, and your bullshit figure isn’t 200 Billion, jackass.
Maybe Mark needs to take a pocket full of marbles with him, so he can explan to the mental midget exactly how much money America actually has as a trade deficit with Canada, and why.
Mr. Trump. We have 41 million people, 347 million.
Okay, so you understand that, right?
Now then, we buy about $350 Billion U.S. of your products and services.
For 2024 America’s trade deficit was actually $45 Billion.
Trump then states,”Canada makes 20% of our cars. We don’t need that. I’d rather make them in Detroit.”
Lie #2: It’s 10%.
Trump claims he doesn’t need or want Canadian oil, gas, or energy, yet last year you imported $170 Billion dollars worth from Canada, fully 1/3 of America’s imports.
This is a feedstock that “America Requires” as your refineries can only process heavy crude.
You demand it, and it’s somehow our fault that we supply it?
Okay, don’t buy our oil and have a 4.1 million barrel shortfall per day, and when that happens and oil prices jump about $1.00 a gallon and you have to import from Venezuela at a premium, because, let’s face it, they hate you, then what?
That will be our fault also?
So If you take out energy, which America demands, then America has a trade surplus with Canada.
Let’s face it. How are 41.5 million Canadians ever going to consume as much as 347 million Americans?
It’s asinine to try and make that argument, but Trump repeatedly does.
What the facts illustrate, not Trump’s continuous bullshit, is that America needs and wants Canada’s energy imports. But what’s coming may well put a fine point on it, if Canada takes Trump at his word and shuts off oil gas and energy to the U.S.
When the lights in the White House go out, maybe, just maybe, dumbass Trump will reflect on all that energy he claims he doesn’t need.
I’m astounded that American economists haven’t stated unequivocally that Trump doesn’t understand what tariffs, subsidies or trade deficits either mean or represent.
It’s actually sad, were it not for the fact that this idiot is actually America’s President.
