Based on today’s discussions with Trump, it would appear that Canada’s future will indeed move ahead without the United States as partners or allies.
Canada will strike its own future, without America imposing its will on Canada.
Trump plans on leaving the existing tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminium, as well as on the auto sector.
Canada now knows what American protectionism means for the future, and Canada should continue to look to Europe, Japan, Korea and China for its economic partnerships and future.
It also means that as Canadian markets expand, Canada will redirect its exports in favour of its ‘partners’, like the E.U., Japan, Korea and China.
The Future Without America – Immediate Responses
Canada should immediately end its military procurement for all and any weapons systems with the U.S.
Canada should immediately end its oil and gas shipments to the U.S.
Canada should immediately stop energy transmission to the U.S.
Canada should immediately end exports of strategic minerals and rare earth’s to the U.S.
The Future Without America – Long Term Goals
Canada should develop a permanent long-term military procurement relationship with both the E.U., and Korea.
It should immediately place orders for (12) KS- III Submarines under contract with Korea, Hanwha and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
Canada should procure its tanks K2 Batch 2 and self-propelled artillery K-9 systems from Korea.
Canada should buy either Gripen JAS 39e fighters from Sweden, or the new GCAP generation 6 fighters from the Japanese, British, Italian consortium that Canada has joined, once they become available.
Canada should ink an agreement with the E.U. as a non-voting member of the E.U. and remain committed to the defence of Ukraine and the E.U.
Canada should drop all tariffs on trade with China, and welcome Chinese Auto Manufacturers to the Canadian market for both domestic consumption and foreign exports to the global south. It should also seek in-kind manufacturing of vehicles.
Canada should commit to the provision of Arctic Military Sovereignty and build three Arctic forward deployment bases complete with Air, Sea (surface and sub-surface, post 2032) and Brigade size land assets.
Canada should build a pipeline for LNG, Crude and CNG to Quebec and to eastern tidewater.
Canada should expand its LNG facility in Kitimat and Prince Rupert.
Canada should build a energy corridor to Hudson’s Bay for fossil fuel exports, fertilizers and grain.
Canada’s future is not with the United States.
The United States doesn’t want allies or partners in trade, and Canada should stay committed to dissolving our relationship with the United States in every way, economically, politically, environmentally, militarily and socially.
Canada is a great country and does not need America to curtail its growth, possibilities or options.
It’s time to turn the page on America, once and for all, and for all time.
