Right now there are campaigns going on all over the United States, attempting to attract Canadians back to Florida, California, Texas, Arizona, Vermont, New Hampshire.
Why?
Is it because of some undying affection for Canadians?
Of course not.
Normally, Americans don’t give a damn about Canadians, other than how much money they spend in the United States, and only then when the proceeds flow to benefit those at risk of loss.
And what of loss?
Right now, it’s Mexicans, illegals, those who are visibly, – different, that are losing.
America’s leadership is racist, vengeful, — determined to disenfranchise all those who ‘they’ perceive as unworthy.
Unworthy.
Is this America, or Chile under Pinochet?
Is this Romania under Ceausescu?
No? Well then, America, — do something about it.
Because soon, very soon, it will be the average American, those who aren’t willing or pretending that they can put up with the lies, the chaos, the thievery, the criminality and the destruction of the rule of law and democracy, — that will be next.
Right now, democracy is in the process of dissolution, dismantling and destruction.
Meanwhile, Americans, or at least the vast majority of them, are concerned that Canadians aren’t spending enough in the country that wants to subjugate them.
Really?
And you think advertisements on television and pleas from governors and other statesmen for Canadians to; ‘come back, because we miss you’, is what’s important?
That’s laughable.
Our, ‘relationship’, is over.
We don’t, and we can’t, trust America.
Americans won’t even act in their own interest.
Meanwhile, in Washington, men plot on how to disenfranchise Canadians of their democracy, while the local pastry shop worries about how sales have fallen 20%.
Canadians are not naive. Canadians are not ignorant. We watch, we listen, we gauge the ‘values’, the ethics, and the morality of America’s actions, and we judge.
Because we must.
America has threatened us. Not in jest. Not as a joke, made in some affectionate ‘off-hand’ comical way, — no.
It was made with intent.
Intent like that of a predator.
It’s been said by psychologists that Trump’s brain is reptilian. It only sees a source of interest, something to be attacked, consumed, or subjugated.
We won’t let that happen.
We will arm, defend, and if necessary, fight an asynchronous war of terror against America should America ever invade.
Because what we have above all in Canada, is a belief in truth, honour, integrity, trust and democracy.
America gave that up in 2024, and if your fearless autocrat and kleptocrat has his way?
It won’t be coming back.
