America isn’t interested in a trade agreement. It’s purely interested in destroying Canada’s economy. Trump and the U.S. will continue eroding the Canadian economy, and it won’t stop until Canadians are willing to either accept annexation, or America invades Canada on some pretext of stopping instability or insurrection. America will foment a crisis and then pretend it’s saving Canada, meanwhile occupying Canada for profit and control. There are many scenarios, and the playbook is an old one. America would likely create an ‘incident’ meant to justify American intervention such as a fake terrorist group in Canada, supposedly intent on attacking the U.S. or U.S. assets. Or the U.S. might simply have the right-wing extremist element of America’s military to create what would look like a border incursion or terrorist attack on American assets, that once again implicate Canada, somehow.
The playbook has been used many times, and the last one was by Russia in the Crimea in 2014, then again in eastern Ukraine in defence of Russian citizens living there in 2022, which we all know was nonsense and bullshit. It in no way invalidates America doing exactly the same thing as Russia, as Trump isn’t even as bright as Putin, but he believes he can get away with it. He is convinced and believes that NATO would not come to Canada’s aid, — in any event.
Americans, supposedly livid over the current situation, aren’t even willing to cause a general strike in the U.S., — even though Trump is actively deconstructing America’s democracy in plain sight.
Time is Very Short
Canada needs to walk a tightrope in order to buy time to diversify trade with other nations and to systematically and rapidly dismantle trade with the U.S.. Right now, Canada is in that process, having dropped trade from 76% with the U.S. to 68% in six months. But it isn’t enough and it isn’t fast enough.
Just as Putin plans to attack Europe, Trump plans to attack Canada. The first step is to tear up existing agreements that he signed, and that Canada signed in good faith. But Trump is a pathological liar, thief and an irrational, arrogant kleptocrat, at best. He is a sociopath suffering from dementia, more than likely, and nothing more than that.
Trump is not a lover of democracy, he simply wants power, control, wealth and to intimidate and emasculate any and all who might have the temerity to stand up to him.
But, if Trump does engage in warfare, he forgets that he is an easy target, as are his sycophants, billionaire oligarchs and his followers.
Not only would it be Canadians willing to fight Americans. Half of America and millions of immigrants, many essential to maintaining America’s food supply, health system and manufacturing, alive, would at worst, either flee or support a revolution or insurrection in the United States, as they will likely find they have nothing to lose.
Civil War and internal chaos may well begin, destroying America’s economy.
Trump is hoping Americans are so fed up with war that will not go be willing to go to Civil War and so he and his cronies within the GOP and the extreme right have put together Project 2025. A blueprint for the dismantlement of democracy in the United States, — which is obviously already well on its way. Once he has suppressed dissent within the U.S., by whatever means, including the use of the U.S. military domestically, it is then that he will turn to the task of occupying or owning Canada.

Extortion: Step 2.
Trump proved he is exactly what I perceived him to be. A liar and a thief.
Just today, as I write this, Trump is willfully attempting to extort Canada, knowing that if Canada retaliates, it will still do extreme damage to Canada.
Well America, if you willfully damage Canada and our interests, you can be damn sure that we will do whatever is necessary to make America feel pain, until it stops its extortion and blackmail.
So in response, Canadians need to take action and get serious about who the threat is, and their plan.
First, it’s time for Canada and Canadians to arm the country and its populace and plan for an asymmetric war of attrition with the United States in the future.
I’m absolutely serious, as is Trump in annexing Canada, by force if necessary.
Canada’s Federal Government should look at the risks of the current situation and take all of Canada’s restricted weapons that are simply semi-automatic hunting and target rifles, off the restricted list weapons list in Canada, as it’s obvious that Canadians will need to be armed in the not distant future.
Remember, If Americans do actually invade, it won’t be the military that eventually stops America or costs excessive loss of American lives, it will be millions of Canadian freedom fighters eliminating invading Americans, one by one, day by day, wherever they are, until American families are fed up of burying their kids, and their fathers.
This is no threat. Simply a fact. Canadians will not go quietly into that good fascist night.
Let me be perfectly clear.
I, and the vast majority of the rest of Canada’s citizens have absolutely no interest whatsoever in causing any damage or destruction in the United States or to Americans in the U.S. as long as America does not invade Canada or endanger Canada’s sovereignty.
All we really want is for America to stay the fuck away from us.
We don’t want you here, and we don’t trust you.
Can I make that any clearer?
We’ll look after our own security and Canada’ sovereignty, thank you very much.
Unlike Finland with Russia, and ‘Finlandization’, Canada will in very short order develop ‘Canadianization’. And believe me, that will not offer appeasement.
We will, only when it supports Canada’s sovereignty and interests. align with the U.S. and cooperate, but that does not mean partner or collaborate, and it does not mean allowing integration with America’s military or security force structure. Not anywhere on the ground, in the air, or at sea in Canadian waters.
And, if America continues to be aggressive, antagonistic, threatening (as it is now, illegally) and further seeks to damage or destroy Canada’s economy in order to undermine the security and the resolve of Canadians to defend Canadian interests, then Canadians will exact a heavy price on America.
While militarily, Canada cannot hope to stop America with only 13% of the population from an invasion, asynchronous warfare, like Vietnam, like Iraq, like Afghanistan, but with much better resources, intelligence and a burning resolve to cause America as much pain as possible, will ensue.
This is no threat.
Do not attempt to paint it as such. We simply want nothing to do with America, period.
Canadians simply want to leave America’s orbit, as it is no longer a democratic nation.
It is led by an autocrat and kleptocrat, and, I reiterate, cannot be trusted.
The U.S. is a nation that has already clearly illustrated that it is wholly racist, and has been for its entire existence. It is now doubling down by deporting, not just illegal aliens, but American citizens and their families, born in the United States.
Canada is not a Christian nation, it is a secular state where its people are religiously tolerant of all religions and one that celebrates its multicultural population. America is not. It is a ‘pretend’ melting pot. The current administration in power, ignores facts, flaunts international law and international trade law. America has rapidly become a Christian Fundamentalist nation that seeks to disenfranchise all those who do not support its fundamentalist Christian beliefs. It has become anti-immigrant, isolationist and predatory, extorting neighbours and seeking extreme right-wing alliances with dictatorships and kleptocracies around the globe.
And because of that, America can never be trusted.
Ever.
So we will leave America’s orbit, arm and steel ourselves to fight a multigenerational war of attrition with the U.S. for as long as it takes in order for Americans to leave, — should that become necessary.
America under Trump, is simply, a fascist state.
In 1939 Canada had a population of slightly more than 11 million people, and yet over 1 million served in uniform to fight fascism. Like my father’s generation, that would mean that if invaded, America would likely face four million patriots today who would rather die than allow America to subjugate Canadians and steal Canada’s wealth and natural resources.
We no longer want America to have any involvement in Canada.
We simply want America to stay away from us, permanently.
