Flights of Fancy

I had always dreamt of being a pilot, right from the time I was young, but coming from a family without a lot of resources, the dream never evolved.

Years later, and after a lifetime of mostly successful endeavours, technology has given me the opportunity to experience my own flight of fancy through the utilization of drones.

While not by any means exactly the same as personal flight, for those viewing these experiences it provides an escape into a world that most people will never experience.

So this coming summer, I’ll be taking a number of flights of fancy to some of the most beautiful places to be found in British Columbia, and maybe farther afield through the Rockies.

Part of that experience will be made in concert with motorcycling up trails, on mountains, through valleys and alongside rivers to experience what only the truly wild places offer, an immersive escape into nature where the power of the wind, the water, and the sun combine to capture and hold solace.

If you love the great outdoors, join me. If you’ve ever sat on a mountain, or under a waterfall, or kayaked a raging river, or just as importantly, wanted to see if not feel the experience, join me.

Life is not a spectator sport. In order to experience we all need to immerse ourselves in what it is that keeps us alive, interested, happy and fulfilled.

That for me, is the combination of riding, trekking and filming this incredible natural environment that if we aren’t careful, we will lose.

Vicariously and immersively, life offers us opportunities that we only need seek out.
