Coalition? You Have To Be Kidding – Not Now – Not Likely Ever

This was yesterday’s headline in CNN. It made me realize how completely out of touch America has become with its ‘former allies’.

America can build a coalition of autocracies, and align with the interests of the Gulf’s states, because it’s now in the autocracy club.

But for democracies? Especially those who’ve been allies for 80 years?

It should be a bit obvious, even to a man who is has never had an honest relationship in his life, that allies don’t attack each other. At least in my book, allies don’t economically threaten their ‘ally’. Allies also don’t extort their ‘ally’, and allies, sure as hell don’t threaten to annex or invade their ‘ally’, because ‘we have to have it’.

That’s not an ally. That’s an existential threat and a national enemy.

That kind of asinine sandbox bully bullshit has only guaranteed that as far as every democracy outside of the Middle East, and for every NATO member, the United States is completely on its own.

You might have talked a coalition of the willing prior to January 20th, 2025, but now?

Sorry, I have to stifle a laugh at this point.

To put that in a language that Don the Con will understand as it is his closest ‘ally’ apparently?

Nyet.

Не сейчас, никогда

America is no longer to be trusted to not stab anyone in the back, so we’ll do what every rational person would do, and get the hell away from America.

In trade, in defence and in foreign policy.

We believe in democracy, and what we see across the border.

That sure as shit, isn’t a democracy.
